First, we were wished a Happy Halloween in the Charlotte Airport.
And then once we got to Nashville, Phil and I dressed up as the
“Dead Poets Society.” Which terrified folks in the local Waffle House.

Columbus, NC.
Polk County High School might be the only school
whose wolverine mascot is alarmingly accurate.

Providence, RI.
As you may recall, I love catching people in the act of
changing the marquee. Especially the Avon.

Lake Placid, NY.
At Northwood School, the hockey players
know: mouthguards first. Poetry second.

After a very haunting visit to Michigan Central Station, the only
thing that seemed appropriate was to test out which of the two
rival “Coney Island” hot dog stands was superior. (I’m voting American.)

Oberlin, Ohio.
Oberlin High School has a killer sense of humor.

Cleveland, Ohio.
I’m about 90% convinced the Alcazar Hotel is haunted.
But I’m also pretty sure the ghosts are all benevolent.
