Sarah has been a long time fan of the work that Habitat for Humanity accomplishes in communities all over the world. It is an honor to be a speaker at this year’s conference.

Watching and cheering at the Women of the World Poetry Slam in Minneapolis, MN!
Sarah is so thrilled to be able to go and witness this exciting National Poetry Slam event. She won’t be competing in the main competition, but she will be rooting on other poets and participating in workshops and small events whenever possible! Performing and visiting at Point Loma High School in San Diego, CA!
What an absolute treat it was to visit Point Loma. Phil and Sarah didn’t know this ahead of time, but all 300 kids that came to see their performance had earned their spot in the audience by proving their interest and excitement. It was the highest concentration of super fans Project VOICE has ever had. So much gratitude to Yolanda Beltran and her intrepid students for making it happen.

Performing and teaching at Pacific Ridge School in Carlisbad, CA!
The Pacific Ridge School is still fairly new, and the only place they could fit everyone was in the gym. It was exciting to be hiding underneath the bleachers in between poems, listening to everyone overhead! Also, Phil and Sarah got to run some lovely workshops for the ninth grade students. Much thanks to Peyton Bray and the whole Chen family for hosting the duo!

Featuring at Da Poetry Lounge in Los Angeles, CA!
Da Poetry Lounge continues to be one of the most impressive slam venues in the country. The folks who run it have done an amazing job of creating a warm and welcoming community, and every week they pack the house! This week was no exception, and it was a joy to be back in the space. Performing and teaching at La Pietra School for Girls in Oahu, HI!
Hawaii itself is beautiful enough. But the La Pietra School for Girls takes it to a new level. The campus feels like you have been transplanted to a villa in Italy. And the ladies who attend La Pietra are sharp and spunky in the best possible way. What a thrill to make a visit here.
