Macaronics and Cheese: March 19, 2012

Little India, Singapore.
Shoes outside temple, prayer ceremony, temple sculpture, musicians.

Also, if you were wondering: the National Orchid Garden in the
Singapore Botanical Gardens is indeed full of some of the most
ridiculous looking flowers I’ve ever seen. Tendrils not withstanding.

Also, also: If you ever wind up in Singapore, most folks will tell you to go
and see the Long Bar at the Raffles Hotel. The Hotel was built in 1887,
and the Long Bar is the home of the famous “Singapore Sling.”
Since I don’t drink alcohol, the visit might have been a lost cause,
were it not for the old tradition of eating peanuts and throwing the shells
on the ground. Fortunately, that was an activity I could easily participate in.
