Performing and Teaching at the British School of Brussels’ Book Week in Brussels, Belgium!
Sarah and Phil are teaching at BSB all week, working with students from Kindergarten all the way up to 12th grade. They are joined by a whole cast and crew of wonderful writers and artists, and have been having a great time!

Speaking at the Creative Mornings Summit in Brooklyn, NY!
In 2008, Tina Roth Eisenberg (Swissmiss) started CreativeMornings out of a desire for an ongoing, accessible event for New York’s creative community. The concept was simple: breakfast and a short talk one Friday morning a month. Every event would be free of charge and open to anyone. Today, attendees gather in cities around the world to enjoy fresh coffee, friendly people, and an international array of breakfast foods. Volunteer hosts and their team members organize local chapters that not only celebrate a city’s creative talent, but also promote an open space to connect with like-minded individuals. Today Sarah got to be one of the guest speakers at the first ever Creative Mornings Summit, which gathered organizers from all over the globe!

Presenting at the 2014 PASSHE Women’s Consortium Conference in Bloomsburg, PA!
It was a real honor for Sarah to be the featured presenter at this year’s conference, especially since the theme was “One Strong Voice: Women’s Creative Expression for Wellness and Activism”. Much thanks to the students and organizers who made it possible!

Performing and teaching at Zurich International School in Zurich, Switzerland!
Sarah and Phil spent the week working with students on three different campuses, from Middle School through High School. It was a joy to get to work with so many students, across such a wide range of ages, as well as getting to work closely with such dedicated staff and faculty. Much thanks to John Switzer and Eric, Caitlin, and Susan for all their help, not to mention all of the great teachers who the team got to work with and spend time with!

Performing in Write Bloody Publishing’s Poetry Extravaganza & Dance Party in Philadelphia, PA!
Four of the Write Bloody Publishing’s best loved poets – Derrick Brown (Strange Light), Sarah Kay (No Matter the Wreckage), Cristin O’Keefe Aptowicz (The Year of No Mistakes) and Taylor Mali (Last Time As We Are) all got to perform together under one roof in Philadelphia for the first time! And even though there was no AC and everyone almost melted, it was still a fantastic night. Much thanks to all who attended, and to those who helped organize and run the event!

Celebrating Cristin O’Keefe Aptowicz’s Book Release in Philadelphia, PA!
Sarah’s longtime mentor and best friend Cristin O’Keefe Aptowicz has been working on this passion project for ten years! And today it is finally available to the world. Dr. Mütter’s Marvels is “the mesmerizing, first-ever biography of the brilliant and eccentric physician and innovator who revolutionized surgery and founded America’s finest museum of medical oddities” and a gripping story to boot! Sarah was also one of the last readers on the project, and it was a joy for her to be a part of today’s celebration. Congratulations, Cristin! (Photo includes Derrick Brown & Taylor Mali!)

Performing at “Speechless” at Joe’s Pub in NYC!
“Speechless” brings improvisors, tech industry gods, and everyday joes and challenges them with giving a presentation on the fly with a powerpoint deck they are seeing with the audience for the first time. It was Sarah’s first time doing improv publicly, and despite it being terrifying, she loved getting to share the stage with the amazing talents of Tony Award winner James Monroe Iglehart, Upright Citizens Brigade’s Brian Fountain, and writer/comedian Nathan Phillips!
