Interviewed by Asia Society!
Sophie Feng titled her article, “Across Asia, Sarah Kay Is Dynamic Ambassador for Spoken Word.” What a complement! Sarah is so often traveling, she rarely gets a chance to process or reflect on the work she is doing. This interview gave Sarah the opportunity to talk about her international work, which is a topic she doesn’t often get asked about. Sophie also writes, “Her poetry is reflective, deliberate, and accessible, and has duly gained momentum… Kay has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to education, authoring an anthology as well as holding workshops with students from all corners of the world. She strives to use spoken word poetry to inspire “passion, patience, and compassion in people,” regardless of external circumstance. Through a collaborative commitment to promoting international consciousness, she continues to enrich both herself and the people around her.” Thank you for the kind words, Sophie, and for giving Sarah the opportunity to discuss what she is passionate about.
