On tour with Project V.O.I.C.E.!
Sarah and Phil have been on the road for three weeks. The final count: 20 days. 12 venues. 19 performances. 21 workshops. 1 combo box of gushers/fruit roll-up/fruit-by-the-foot. Way too many miles on the 5, not enough miles on the 101. Two bags of cough drops. Lots of vitamins. And thousands of supporters, friends, students, teachers, and organizers making it all worth it. Some people go on winter break. Project V.O.I.C.E. goes on winter work. Supremely thankful. Exhausted and thankful.

At the Student Leadership Conference at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver!
Sarah had an awesome time on her first visit to Canada, even though it was such a quick trip! It even snowed, which is apparently rare for Vancouver. (Click the photo to watch an interview about the event!)

Performing a benefit show for the Bowery Poetry Club!
What a magical night. Before the show even started, people were lined up down the block! Then, as soon as we opened the door, the Bowery was packed to the brim with people sitting on stage, sitting in the aisle, standing in the back. The stage was full of close friends and great talent: Taylor Mali, Andy Suzuki & the Method, Laura Lamb Brown-Lavoie, Jeanann Verlee, and Arthur Lewis. We even had 479 people watching the live stream online! The whole evening was a triumphant night for poetry, community, and the Bowery Poetry Club. Thank you to everyone who made it such a remarkable evening. It felt so good to be home.

Publishing her first book!
Sarah’s first book, “B” is now available on Amazon! “B” was written when Sarah was in school, but it gained attention after her performance at the TED Conference in 2011. Thanks to the amazing team at the Domino Project, the poem is now finally available in book-form! The book features beautiful illustrations by Sarah’s life-long friend Sophia Janowitz, who has been Sarah’s consultant on all things arts-and-craftsy since 1988. This book was a joy to make and we hope it will be a joy to read!
